MHB surpassed a 10-year goal in FY21 investing by over $4 million through its Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Initiative. Established in 2011, this initiative has added 211 PSH units to St. Louis’ housing stock representing 21 housing projects and a total investment of $4,140,892 from the Community Mental Health Fund.
This year MHB invested in two new projects. Gateway Housing First was awarded funding to purchase and rehabilitate three scattered sites adding 15 studio and 8 two-bedroom, energy efficient, and remodeled apartments, collectively known as Francie’s Place. Additionally, through Horizon Housing Development Company, MHB invested in the purchase and renovation of a 4-unit apartment complex in the Carondelet neighborhood which serves primarily serves couples struggling with housing insecurity and mental health challenges.
